Athane is a communication specialist, journalist, author, editor and speaker from George, South Africa.

Her extraordinary grief recovery experience following the death of her husband, Desmond, prompted her to write Peace in Grief, and has led to a Christian-based grief support ministry.

She is a regular contributor to blogs and other media, and speaks on issues including personal and corporate communication, womanhood, grief and Bible-based faith. She committed her life to Jesus Christ in 1982 at the age of eight and has been involved in children’s church, youth ministry, course facilitation, as a church volunteer and small group leader.

“I love that the principles of Christian faith remain as applicable and effective as it was during Biblical times. My writing and talks are honest about issues of life and Christianity in a modern, broken world and share my thoughts on how the character of God continues to be relevant, even when the answers to our questions aren’t clear.”

PEACE IN GRIEF

Peace in Grief is the brutally honest account of the surreal world of sudden death and a family’s belief in God’s Plan. Athane Scholtz shares the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual impact of trauma following the death of her husband and father of her teenage children – and the miracle of peace that transcends all understanding when everything is entrusted to God. She also offers advice for the grieving and those wanting to support them.

Her Christian perspective is clear, but not condemning to a non-believer. – Alexandra Esterhuizen, Widow and Author

Good practical advice regarding the reality of losing a loved one…a beautiful, truly moving book. – Trish Wiese, Trauma Counsellor
